New Wax Collage

I love doing the wax collages so much that I will be teaching it as my new class offering at Lambs Gate Antiques... something Christmas ofcourse! This one features a beautiful angel from The Graphics Fairy, a wonderful site for graphics of all kinds,( click on her link in the blogs I follow to go right to her site), and a page from a vintage postcard booklet, something glittery(because I just can't resist!)and old lace. I love how the beeswax gives everthing a golden glow! Definitely more of these to come... Theresa xoxo

Christmas on hold!!!

I went to our farmers market this morning and look what I found... stackable pumpkins of all sorts! Our super friendly farmer had all kinds cinderellas, thompsons, peanuts and they are awesome! I got some squash to try for dinner too! I made the scarecrow a few years ago, he has flowers for his sweetheart.awwwww. O.k you all know that I was so excited to build the topiary that I couldn't possibly have considered sweeping the porch!!! A few leaves add to the fall extravaganza feel of it all! right?... It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!

I just listed a few things on my etsy site THeinOriginals.etsy.com...My family had to listen to Christmas music so that I could conjure up all the warm fuzzy goodness of Christmas! Falalalala!

That didn't take long at all! I just need to really pay attention, which is one of my shortcomings I'm afraid! The first picture is my Mom and her sisters, Mom has the accordian... who takes an accordian to the lake these days?!!! These people knew how to have fun! This is the family picture that I love! My Mom had 10 brothers and sisters, some of these people are her cousins and she is the baby on the right. Look how happy everyone is! I remember lots of laughing whenever we were together. Lots of joking around which is why my family is the way we are. I have 8 brothers and 3 sisters and when we are together we are loud, laughing and having fun. I'ts a wonderful feeling and I love it!

Family Pics...

Oh I love my title picture, it really shows my ukranian heritage. that's my Bushie (grandma) on the left drinking her cup of coffee and then my Mom is in the highchair. I love how the table was set all fancy with lit candles and probably their best ironware and the white tablecloth and well then if you look to the left in front of Bushie... the can of Pet Milk! Love It!! Old photos are the best I use them often in my altered art but when you know the people in the picture, well that makes it all that more special. It puts a new twist on the artwork. As soon as I figure this blogger thing out I will add more pics.! Theresa xoxo

first post...

o.k. first post of the blog... I have been wanting to do this since Dawn of The Feathered Nest told everyone how easy it is! Sometimes I let fear of the unknown stop me from trying new things...well no more! Next challenge, how to make this interesting, fun and sometimes informative! I want to use this forum to share funny stories, art and well who knows?
