Rusty, Crusty, White with a little Paper thrown in!

This white rusty little bird bath, could only feed the smallest of birds but it looks so cute placed among the garden goodness.
There is just something special about white chippy paint and rust that captures this junking heart... old cans, sprinkler nozzles, metal, even old book pages, the beauty of old, white anything is just lovely. Is it any wonder why the White Wednesday party gets bigger and bigger every week? We all swoon when we encounter rusty, chippy white goodness!
This lard can is quite large and holds our dog, Jazz's, food in the back entrance to our house.
This Malted Milk one is a new find from "treasure hunting" and will be listed in my etsy store theoldwhitehouse very soon...
I think Duane thinks this new found love of mine is sheer craziness but I just love the utilitarian crusty stuff most of all! I have been able to acquire a few of these nozzles and am always on the look out for more... I mean have you ever seen Jane's collection, she has them displayed so beautifully it'll make you want to start collecting them, I promise!
This is the base of a double swag light fixture that I recently found too, again check out theoldwhitehouse cuz that's where it will be!
Look at the detail on the lights, ohhhhhh the vintage beauty of these, be still my heart! Someone needs to have these shine in their home, we just don't have anywhere for them... believe me I've tried everywhere!
I even wanted to hang them from a tree like I did the chandis but we don't have power anywhere outside and you couldn't really put candles in these. My loss is your gain!!!
Last but not least for this WW is this wreath I made for theinoriginals, this one is sold but of course the pattern is still in my noggin... all covered with wonderful smelling beeswax and german glass glitter.
So I'm going to go link up to White Wednesday over at Faded Charm and can't wait to see what everyone brings to the party! Another good one for Wednesday is bobbypinsboardwalk bragfest, so I'm going to go over to see Jan and link up there too! Thanks to Kathleen and Jan for hosting these fun parties! I told you in the last post, I've decided at my age to become somewhat of a party girl!!! (it's never too late, right) can I get a WHOOT, WHOOT!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Theresa xoxo

  1. Oh Theresa,
Everything is beyond precious!!! I hope you're doing great and sending smiles your way!

  2. Hi Theresa,
It's all beautiful! Are you sure you couldn't run power outside since those lights/chandis are so gorgeous?? Happy WW

  3. AHHH, I love it alllllll!
    Okay that wreath is gorgeous
and I totally agree with you about those darn nozzles, I want them and don't even need to start another darn collection of anything.
This all makes me so happy to look at.
    Thanks Theresa

  4. Great looking lighting! So hard to explain about the chippy/crusty stuff! Some people (guys) look at you like you're crazy! Great post-- Jacqueline

  5. Oh, I love your 612 pillow!
    Thank you for sharing!

  6. Theresa, I've really enjoyed this post. The waxed wreath is wonderful. I love the way you have truly perfect this art. I also adore the light fixture. I recently picked up one very similar, and could not find a place to hand it in my house either, so I took the two beautiful crystal lights, and stood them upside down as part of a vignette on a table. They look lovely, but still would prefer the light fixture. Now I have the ornate holders. I must figure out something to to with those also. I love the way you hung these all outside. You treat the outside of your house just as lovingly as you do the inside of your house. Cool! Thanks for sharing at the Boardwalk Bragfest!

  7. The wreath is so pretty. I love the light fixture.

  8. Good Morning Theresa Sweetie...
What beautiful shares you have today in this great post. I love the waxed wreath, it is absolutely exquisite.

I remember one of those light fixtures in green growing up as a child in our living room. It was beautiful, I love laying there looking at that swag. I wonder now whatever happened to it?

I still use my nozzle like this one. It is quite old. DH and I have moved it with us now for 35 years, and I think it came from his Dad before that. It works better than any other nozzle I have ever had. Love it.

Thanks for sharing sweet friend. Oh and I almost forgot, I love the house numbers on the pillow. To CUTE.

Have a great day sweetie. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

  9. Even your beautiful wreath has a rusty look...just fabulous!!! White + rust+ perfection!

  10. I hear you Theresa...White chippy paint and rust just captures my heart too! Love it. Oooo and love the lights...have a pair myself...just need to find the perfect place to put them :-P

  12. Hi T, my three fav words, rusty crusty white :) Hope you are having a great Wednesday.

  13. Hi Theresa~~~I've been looking at your blog, and think it's fantastic! Thank you for sharing all of the white treasures for WW.
    Also...thank you for visiting yesterday.

  14. Love the wreath and those wonderful double lights, but wow, that pillow with your house number is just too cool!! Very creative, Theresa!

  15. Holy Smokes where do you get all these goodies! My husband I think would shoot me :) Well only in the foot...but he would :) No he is actually pretty good but I just love admiring your goodies because if I brought any home now it would be broken in 2 seconds flat...you know it would too :) I can't seem to control these rascals :)

It is so good to just even be on your page! I don't know why it is so hard for me to get on here lately! I think things will slow down when Annie starts school & it's just the boys & me again. For some reason when I have them all I like to be out of the house or they drive me a little nutso...okay...a lot nutso...Kate says she really genuinely misses YOU! I am headed to some sculpture gardens with her tomorrow so it should be a fun day.

    Talk to ya Soon!

  20. Hi Theresa, lots of fun stuff and lovely treasures at your place. I see that you are in Grand Haven. In fact, just down the street from my aunt's in Spring Lake, I saw a business sign for a Dennis Hein and I wondered if there was a relation.

Maybe we can meet up in downtown one of these days. Best wishes, Tammy
