1 dock + 4x4 = Fabulous Table!

Yesterday was a great day! This table that I have dreamed about has finally taken shape! Sooo I had the idea to make this really long table for our patio area so that we could all sit together for dinner (we've been using 2 tables or some would sit on the couch) the table tops I thought would work just did not for one reason or another. Then last week while dumping some weeds down our back hill I came across a long overlooked dock that was given to us a few years ago.

Perfect! I had a 4x4 stashed from a project that again... didn't h
appen. Well put them together with some help from our wonderful neighbors and there you have it. The most fabulous outdoor table ever!!! I LOVE IT! All 8 chairs fit around it with the extra 2 at the ends. I think I will have to look for a couple of other end chairs though, these sit too low and aren't really made for the outdoors.

See this ring? It's for holding your boat... we were thinking that maybe we would use it to secure Max to his seat so he would eat all of his dinner! (My neighbors idea I swear!)
This table is our table where we put out the dishes, and condiments or food. It works so well.
This picture is a little grainy, sorry, I wanted to take pics before it got so dark but we were relaxing at the table and visiting and well time got away from me. I am hoping for many more nights just like that ( minus the mosquitos)
So there you have it, 1 dock, 1 4x4 and help from some wonderful friends = 1 fabulous table!

Thanks for stopping by, Theresa xoxo

I'm linking this up to Boardwalk Bragfest, and Saturday Night Special, and DIY Showoff
and Transformation Thursday.

  10. Now THAT...is awesome! I need you & your creative mind for Annie's party Saturday :) You have the coolest ideas! Thank goodness I have Kate :) Now you just need a TV chef to live with you...they always have cool parties on wonderful tables like that!

Oh & yes about Stinkbomb...I never thought I would have to give the, "You NEVER put perfume on toads or ANY animals." talk. Scares me what they are up to when I DON'T catch them.

  12. Theresa!!!
I love it, I can just hear the crickets and see the fireflies off in the distance as you sit down by the candlelight to enjoy family time.
This setting is just what I long for. Sitting with my family gathered around and the children playing while going down memory lane.
It just feels so safe, like you are in your own little world.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics
    makes me sigh.

  16. I Love It!!! I wish I had a dock just lying around waiting for this project. I can't believe how beautiful it all turned out! And I like the 2 chandeliers. I only have one over my outside dining table, but if I could make a longer table, I could use 2 also.. Another project to put on the list. Thanks so much for sharing!
