There I was, minding my own business.
the business of sweeping the front porch...
it was just chilly enough for me to want to redecorate for fall.
and the porch definitely needed a new mailbox!
mailBAG to be exact!
I have had this idea floating around in my noggin for a while now.
I made the bag with ~ what else ~ drop cloth.
I ran a coat hanger through the hem around the top so that the mail lady wouldn't mind
bringing me my mail. :)
It stays open all by itself so all she has to do is drop it in!
I did like our old mail box, but it had issues.
It had been glued and reglued and well,
I did mention that I was sweeping the porch, right?
That is just how i clean...
it's not really clean if I can't redecorate!
love,
Theresa xoxo

It's fabulous Theresa. Hope the US Postal service doesn't have issues with a mail bag rather than a mailbox. :/ No doubt your mail lady is quite pleased to visit your lovely porch every day! I am feeling the need to rearrange my living room. Such a task! Enjoy the weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteDear Theresa, this is a wonderful mailbag--- here in DK we are not allowed to make such mailboxes-but have to have special ones in metal -and they MUST be on the street ,that the post shall not walk....
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks so cosy- and ofcourse I LOVE the pumpkin, too :)
Hugs,Dorthe
Great addition to your lovely cozy porch. Like some of the others I couldn't have anything like this in my area for actual use but it would be cute on the porch even if not functional. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa!
ReplyDeleteI came by way of T's Daily Treasures blog!
I'm the same way, if I can't move or change something while I clean, then it's hardly worth doing it! Right?
Love your post bag idea!
I might have to do something like for the papers I get. They don't easily fit in my box!
Thanks for the inspiration, stop by sometime.
Ciao Bella!

Great bag!!! now if only my mail person came to my door to deliver our mail. Our mailbox has issues too. Seems the local hoodlems like to go around bashing the mailboxes. I've given up replacing them:)
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!

ReplyDelete...oh, i so wish we had individual mailboxes attached to our house! i'd so do something like this!!
ReplyDeletebut alas, out west, there is a giant mail box with little key doors with about 35 mailboxes. in each neighborhood
but soon, i shall be moving back east (december, mind you! the worst time to move back east!!) and then i shall have my mailbox:)
thanks for inspiring us!
xo, Rosemary
Your mailbag is so cute, how creative! Your porch looks so inviting, I'd be sitting out here often. My porch isn't covered so "limits" what I can put out.
