the attention span of a gnat...

Sometimes having the attention span of a gnat is a good thing...

because of it, I am really never bored.
I am someone who has to keep her hands busy,
I generally don't watch television with the family
unless I am multitasking.
(unless I plan on letting it lull me to sleep)

Earrings are a good thing to make while I 'watch!'
I grab a handful of beads and findings and
snuggle in with everyone.

The early hours of the morning are my
favorite time to solder.
Generally I have the pieces all put together and like to accumulate
a nice pile of them to solder.
I'm usually the first one awake
and it's quiet around here and I drink my coffee,
listen to pandora, and go to town!

this one is a double sided

vintage fabric scrap from a small vintage napkin with the trim on the front
and the word simplify on the back.

this one is made from a vintage piece of embroidery

the latest pieces from the worktable,
most of them are listed in the shop

...and when I'm not making jewelry,
you know I'm sewing sachets and making soap!
These were the sachets that I made for the
Soap'n House that I mentioned a few posts ago.
It unfortunately was postponed because
of the late winter weather so these
are waiting for the next show or for sale on etsy :)
I just love using the vivid colors of the vintage fabrics,
for the dryer sachets, it makes them easy to spot among the laundry,
and of course the Michigan stamp one is a favorite of mine.

So you see, having the attention span of a gnat
has served me well,
I flit from project to project always trying something new!
I do miss creating collages, and assemblage pieces
but this gnat has also learned her limits.
There is really only so much time in the day,
and right now my days are very full.

In between creating with my hands, I have been
expanding my lil brain too!
I am in the process of creating a new website for us.
The blog will be connected to it,
but I wanted to create our own site
apart from etsy.
Sometimes as I'm putting it together,
I think of it as one of those brain exercises
that they encourage for gnats my age!

"If you don't use it, you lose it"

(I wish that worked for the rest of my body!)

That's a little of what I've been up to,
how about you?
I'd love to hear all about it!

love,
t.xoxo

polyvore+etsy=love...

Do you know what Polyvore went and did?
They are allowing etsy products to be included on the site.
GAAAAAAAAAAA!
I will tell you that I love polyvore, although I have only admired it from afar.
I visit Junkgarden every Sunday to see her weekly wardrobe picks, and
I just recently oooogled Scarlett's newest art made from polyvore's art creations,
but i had not jumped into the water... until today.

I chose my pale pink vintage inspired necklace to include in my set.
I love these colors, the vintage style of the dress... swoon.
After we saw the Hunger Games, I only wanted to dress in the simple dresses like District 12.
Something from the 40's with lace socks and oxford shoes. In the palest of hues.
(That being said, you must know that right now I am sitting in torn jeans, white shirt, cardigan and converse.)
I have yet to find the dress of my dreams!

 I digress...
The real excitement here is that we have yet another opportunity
to share our creations and etsy shops with a wonderful
creative outlet!

WOOHOO!

now to  figure this thing out...

 Happy Saturday!
 love,
Theresa

p.s.  after I figure out polyvore my next assignment is to conquer the new blogger design!

tulips and necklaces...

We had a 4 day weekend over here and boy has it been nice!

A dear friend stopped by with a 'spring present' of beautiful tulips
for me the other day and I had the perfect spot to
show them off.

playing with picnik,
I sure am gonna miss it :(

(sold)
I have made some new necklaces to share!

I love the light citron color of these glass beads,
just enough sunshiny yellow...

(sold)
to go with a vintage religious medal hanging from an old chandelier crystal
along with a silver bird and a heart from a vintage bracelet.

I can't even remember where I found this gold wrapped shell but it is fabulous,
perfect for summer!

I beaded it with multi colored natural glass beads with a few
larger tiger eye beads encased in bling... I love me some bling!

pretty in pink...
The bee is soldered and then I gave it a copper patina,
and that drew me to the pink beads on the table.

pinks and golds and copper and pale browns...
yum.

a pink rose with a copper heart and a brownish bead for the dangle effect :)

I'm going to leave you with the tulips...
they have really brought a bit of spring into the dining room
and into my heart!
Thanks Julie! xoxo

I have more beading to do, ideas to play with and well, you know,
laundry to put away.

(thank goodness Hannah volunteered to make dinner!)

back to work...

Thanks so much for stopping by,
I really appreciate all of you for following my little blog,
those that have been here since the beginning
and the newbies I see on the sidebar...
welcome aboard!

love,
Theresa
